I've continued developing my ceramics using the new design I came up with that I've named 'Intricate Series'. I create the patterns using a variety of brought and handmade tools using a wide variety of techniques, creating the patterns is my new favourite thing to be doing in the studio!
I've began introducing the pattern onto a range of different things, below you can see a new fruit bowl I created.
I've been experimenting lately with my making to broaden my horizons so I've been trying out new types of clay. First of I tried out parian clay (which I'm still not finished playing with) and now I've been creating with terracotta clay. It's wonderful to work with, sooo smooth, but it is a stinker to clean! It stains everything red including my hands!!!
I'm absolutely loving creating in terracotta clay!
I had one try and uni and loved just how creamy and soft it is, I never had the time to play more so now I've opened a new bag nothing can keep me away from it!
Keep your eyes peeled for more terracotta loveliness. :)
I've been developing my Intricate series and really pushing how versatile it can be as a pattern, I can adapt it to anything I put it to making each piece unique with its own one of a kind hand carved pattern.
Here I taken on a commission for a house plaque. Would you like one for your home?
As always thanks for reading!
